Grapes are the fruits we all are fond of Grapes. So let’s discuss today about the nutritional benefits of these delicious fruits. Grapes are found mainly in three colors green, black and red.



 These are rich source of Vitamin A, B6, vitamin C, folate, potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorous, magnesium and selenium.



Grapes contain high level of vitamin C which is an antioxidant and helps to fight many free radicals in the body. It is a good source of Vitamin B1 which helps to nervous system to work right. Potassium helps to lower the Blood pressure.



Grapes are rich in antioxidants; antioxidants are the molecules which help the body to fight the free radicals. Free radicals are the molecules produced in the body after metabolism or by the environmental pollutants, cigarette smoking and tobacco. Thus the antioxidants help to prevent the oxidation of other molecules. Infact aging is the result of slow and continuous oxidation of the body so we can say it is an ant aging fruit.



Other important nutrient found in grapes is Resveratrol which has been shown to be effective in preventing cancer. Some evidences suggest that Grapes are also useful for the Brain health and delay neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.

 

Grapes are also useful to combat constipation. They have a laxative effect and they are rich in organic acids, sugar and cellulose, they tighten the intestinal muscles and help to relieve constipation.



Red grapes have an antibacterial and antiviral property so they help to lessen the infection rate.



While Grapes have many health benefits but the persons who are obese, diabetic or have stomach ulcers should be careful while consuming grapes because of their high sugar and acid content.
